The NA48 detector has been designed [2]
to allow the measurement of 
in the
neutral kaon system with a total error of 10 
. For the detection
of neutral final states a Liquid Krypton calorimeter has been tested and
build offering an excellent energy, position and time resolution. In the
following we present specifications of the detector, results from a small
scale prototype as well as the status of the full scale apparatus.
